Various Designs of Wood Pergolas
Different designs of wood pergolas serve different functions. An attached pergola becomes part of the home when it’s built over a deck. It creates a shaded area to sit leisurely during day or night. Free standing pergolas mainly serve as focal points for a yard, although they can also be used to place over a hot tub, for a private place to read and relax, a social place for conversing or even for an outdoor TV. A typical pergola does not have a sold roof and so air and light can enter. But it is possible to cover the pergola and adapt it for use in rainy seasons.
